Standards of professional collaboration, patient privacy (HIPAA), and commercial neutrality for all sSCAPE events, webmeetings, and digital forums.
Mandatory HIPAA Patient De-Identification
All echocardiographic video clips, still images, and clinical narratives presented during sSCAPE webmeetings, symposium sessions, or submitted to the video library must be completely de-identified. All patient names, medical record numbers (MRNs), dates of birth, exact dates of service, and hospital account identifiers must be permanently masked or cropped.
Constructive Clinical Inquiry
Pediatric and congenital echocardiography demands high technical precision and nuanced diagnostic judgment. All discussions, questions, and panel critiques must be delivered constructively, maintaining an open, supportive forum for sonographers, fellows, and junior faculty to share challenging cases without fear of judgment.
Commercial Neutrality & Financial Disclosure
Educational programs must remain free of commercial promotion or brand bias. All presenters must complete a financial disclosure statement prior to accredited sessions, disclosing any relevant industry relationships with ultrasound equipment or device manufacturers.
Questions or Reporting Conduct Concerns
If you notice any accidental patient identifier in a presentation, or experience unprofessional conduct during an event, please contact the Board of Directors immediately. Reports are handled with strict confidentiality.
