Organization Overview

About

The Society of Southern California Pediatric Echocardiography is a clinician-led 501(c)(6) non-profit professional society connecting cardiac sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows across Southern California.

Our Mission

To advance the diagnostic standard for pediatric and congenital heart disease through clinician-led education, shared regional expertise, and accessible continuing professional development.

sSCAPE was formed to unite the clinicians behind the transducer: cardiac sonographers, pediatric cardiologists, congenital heart surgeons, and trainees. We believe that by reviewing real-world cases, atypical anatomies, and challenging scans together, every echo laboratory in Southern California becomes stronger.

Core Pillars

Founded on four fundamental commitments to the Southern California pediatric echo community.

Peer-Level Clinical Dialogue

A dedicated space for sonographers, cardiologists, and surgeons to dissect complex anatomy, discuss scanning nuances, and share diagnostic insights.

Sonographer-Centered Focus

Recognizing and advancing the specialized craft of the pediatric cardiac sonographer — the skilled hands behind the probe during every diagnostic study.

Accessible Continuing Education

Keeping society dues at $15 to $25 per year with 100% free access for students and fellows so education remains within reach for the entire clinical team.

Regional Standardization

Connecting echo laboratories across Southern California to harmonize scanning protocols, share rare lesions, and sharpen diagnostic accuracy.

Our History

From regional case exchanges to an accredited non-profit medical society.
